MyTaag

German NFC business card provider from Hamburg with Frankfurt hosting and a BMW reference, strong on data protection, weak on the enterprise IT stack.

  • HQHamburg, Germany
  • Founded2020
  • Target audienceB2B: mid-sized companies and large corporations (including banking/finance, insurance, automotive, real estate, healthcare/pharma, hospitality, trades, agencies, logistics)

MyTaag is operated by TAAGSOLUTIONS GmbH from Hamburg, which was launched in 2020 by Davis Zöllner and Berkay Cankiran, founders who were minors at the time. The company gained recognition in 2021 through a deal on "Die Höhle der Löwen" (Carsten Maschmeyer), followed by an investment from Schoeller Holdings.

The product consists of NFC and QR based digital business cards with a B2B focus ranging from mid-sized companies to large corporations. Perhaps the most robust enterprise reference in the German market: the rollout across all BMW dealerships in Germany.

Functionally, MyTaag covers the basic requirements: central admin dashboard, corporate design, Apple/Google Wallet, lead capture including business card scanner and statistics. In the overall result, MyTaag reaches 62 out of 100 points.

This places the provider in the solid midfield: strong on data protection and support, but with clear gaps in the enterprise integration stack. MyTaag is therefore better suited to smaller teams and hardware-oriented use cases than to IT-driven corporate rollouts with high automation demands.

Strengths

  • Strong GDPR position: exclusive data storage in data centers in Frankfurt am Main and standardized AVV for corporate customers, relevant for German B2B compliance
  • German provider with German-language support (help center, free support call) and German GmbH legal form (TAAGSOLUTIONS GmbH, Hamburg)
  • Robust enterprise reference: rollout across all BMW dealerships in Germany demonstrates scalability in the large-corporation environment
  • Solid B2B features: central admin dashboard, corporate design/custom branding, Apple/Google Wallet, lead capture including business card scanner and statistics
  • Integrations with common systems (HubSpot, Zapier, Azure Active Directory) as well as CSV export facilitate CRM connectivity

Data protection & server location

On data protection, MyTaag is most strongly positioned with 82 out of 100 points. According to the provider, data is stored and processed exclusively in data centers in Frankfurt am Main; an earlier reference to the AWS region eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) was found in the website's source code, but no hosting provider is named explicitly on the security page.

Standardized data processing agreements (AVV) are available for corporate customers, and the platform advertises full GDPR compliance based on Privacy by Design/Default and SSL/TLS encryption. The NFC chips themselves contain only encrypted links, no personal data.

An honest deduction is warranted for the ISO 27001 status: the provider merely states that the platform is "operated in accordance with the standard", and unlike, for example, Lemontaps (TÜV SÜD) or Spreadly (ISO 27001:2022), no clear certification proof is available. ISO 9001 is named as a certification.

A SOC 2 attestation is missing, though this is rarely critical for purely German/EU-oriented procurements. For regulated industries, the unclear 27001 status remains subject to review.

Enterprise readiness & integration

The enterprise integration score of just 32 out of 100 points is MyTaag's clear weak point. Dedicated single sign-on via SAML or OIDC is not advertised, nor is SCIM for automated user provisioning or MDM connections (Microsoft Intune, Jamf).

An open REST API is not evidenced, unlike competitors such as Lemontaps, Spreadly or wazzl, which do offer REST APIs. In terms of integrations, MyTaag documents HubSpot, Zapier and an Azure Active Directory import; together with CSV export, this covers basic CRM and user connectivity, but it does not replace fully automated on/offboarding.

Team administration reaches a mediocre 52 points: the central admin dashboard with corporate design is present, but documented bulk provisioning and fine-grained role models are not evidenced. On feature scope (72 points) and support/language level (74 points), German-language help center, free support call and email at hello@mytaag.com, MyTaag performs decently, although isolated user reports criticize support availability and no published SLA is available.

We deliberately do not list prices on digitale-visitenkarten.de: they change frequently and are not transparently and fully available for every provider. For MyTaag’s current terms, please refer directly to the provider’s website.

MyTaag FAQ

Where does MyTaag host data and is the provider ISO 27001 certified?

According to the provider, all data is stored and processed exclusively in data centers in Frankfurt am Main; the website's source code also contained a reference to the AWS region eu-central-1 (Frankfurt). Standardized data processing agreements (AVV) are available for corporate customers.

Caution is warranted regarding the ISO 27001 status: MyTaag merely states that the platform is "operated in accordance with the standard", and unlike Lemontaps or Spreadly, there is no clear certification proof. ISO 9001 is named as a certification, and a SOC 2 attestation is missing.

Does MyTaag offer SSO, SCIM and an API for enterprise rollouts?

No. Dedicated single sign-on via SAML or OIDC, SCIM provisioning and MDM connections (Intune, Jamf) are not advertised, and an open REST API is not evidenced. With an enterprise integration score of 32 out of 100, this is MyTaag's clearest weakness.

Documented integrations include HubSpot, Zapier and an Azure Active Directory import, as well as CSV export. For fully automated on/offboarding of large IT organizations this is usually not enough; here, Lemontaps or Spreadly (both with SSO, SCIM and API) are better positioned.

What does MyTaag cost?

We deliberately do not list specific prices, as they change frequently and are not transparently and completely available for all providers. Only the one-time hardware costs are publicly disclosed (NFC card, NFC sticker and the bundle of card and Taag).

The software/team plan with central dashboard and integrations has no public price per user and month; procurement takes place only via a demo request or sales, and there is no free platform tier. According to the terms and conditions, the usage contract can be cancelled monthly at the end of the billing period.

It is best to inquire about the current terms directly with the provider.

Which companies is MyTaag best suited for?

MyTaag is above all a good fit for smaller to mid-sized teams with a hardware and data protection focus that value German hosting (Frankfurt), AVV and German-language support and can do without deep identity automation. The reference at the BMW dealership network does demonstrate basic scalability, but for IT-driven corporate rollouts with SSO, SCIM and API automation, the corresponding building blocks are missing.

Independent reviews (G2, Capterra, Trustpilot) are hardly available, which makes an advance check via demo advisable.
